GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy can often help you find your “voice.” Groups can teach you about yourself. They help reduce isolation and help people gain social skills. Hearing others speak about similar issues and concerns will help you feel that you are not alone. Groups can offer hope, encouragement, inspiration, and sometimes suggestions. Because of this, groups can provide peer support that is different from what your therapist can offer you in a one-on-one session.

HOW WE WORK

Size & structure

EYT groups are small: typically 5–8 members, which is large enough for genuine group dynamics and small enough that no one gets lost. Groups meet weekly for 75–90 minutes.

Facilitation

Every EYT group is facilitated by a licensed therapist with specific training and experience in group therapy and in the group’s focus area. Facilitators are not passive — they actively shape the group’s dynamics, hold safety, and guide the work. You’re in good hands.

Confidentiality

Everything shared in group stays in group. All members agree to a confidentiality agreement before joining, and facilitators reinforce this expectation consistently. Group therapy is a confidential therapeutic setting — not a support group, not a meetup, and not a place where what you share will leave the room.

Fit & screening

Every new member does a brief screening conversation with the group facilitator before joining. This isn’t a barrier — it’s how we make sure the group will actually work for you, and that you’ll actually work for the group.

Individual therapy alongside group

Some members are in individual therapy at EYT alongside their group work. Others come to group as a standalone. Both are welcome. If you’re interested in combining individual and group therapy, we can discuss how to structure that so the two forms of work support rather than duplicate each other.

Reach out to ask about current availability, join a waitlist, or talk through which group might be the right fit. The screening conversation is free and doesn't commit you to anything. We’re also happy to answer any questions before you decide.
